loT的新挑战?IoT physical space and power supply challenges

随着用户在日常生活中与多种电子设备之间数据传输的大量增加,意味着新的电信时代的到来。工单任务的简易化,便利化、更多自动化服务和应用程序技术支持的必要性刺激了5G和物联网设备等技术的产生和发展。新技术的增长和发展也随即带来了新的挑战,在开发新产品时,必须考虑到许多因素,去克服新的困难。然而,在5G和物联网领域中,两个因素对设备的大规模部署至关重要:物理空间和电源。

The new telecommunication era is being guided by a large increment in the transmission of data between users and several electronic devices. The necessity to simplify tasks and provide more services and applications that are being automated resulted in the creation and evolution of technologies like 5G and IoT devices. The growth and development of new technologies also create new challenges that need to be overwhelmed, many factors must be taken into consideration when a new product is being developed, however, in the 5G and IoT area two factor are critical for the large deployment of equipment’s: physical space and power supply.

Physical space represents a challenge when there’s a requirement to deploy networks that integrates several interconnected smart devices. Arranging the physical layer of equipment that is going to provide edge computing processing for data coming from IoT equipment can be a difficult task. Many telecom carriers and other enterprises need to install more devices and bring the data processing closer to the edge of where this data is being created, this action will allow to satisfy users requirements, improve the quality of services, expand their coverage areas and provide support to new applications, however, the deployment of facilities to place the devices result in a serious challenge since multiple operators are already sharing sites and other enterprises are facing other challenges like limited sites, limited mounting space and a limited budget to build another facility.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the hottest technological applications at present. But many Internet of Things smart devices often face power supply problems when they need to meet the “ALWAYS ON” requirement. The deployment of equipment that needs to meet such special requirements represents a difficult task since companies can’t rely on batteries for their operation and a failure can result in the shutdown of the smart device and the malfunction of an important application. Additionally, other problems like installation and arrangement of additional electrical infrastructure, an increasing number of power outlets at every point and the need to hire qualified electricians, must be taken into consideration when you are planning to deploy this kind of device. Fortunately, there is a new technology that can provide adequate power for the Internet of Things smart devices, this technology is called: Power Over the Internet or PoE.

PoE是一种为用于有线以太网局域网(LAN)而开发的技术,该解决方案将使用数据电缆而不是电源线提供智能设备运行所需的电流。实施这项技术将有助于减少安装网络所需的导线数量。PoE技术可以发送10/100/1000 Mbps的数据,并通过Cat5e和Cat6以太网电缆为设备提供15W、30W、60W和高达90W的功率预算,最大距离为100m。

PoE is a technology that was developed for being used in wired Ethernet local area networks (LANs), this solution will provide the electrical current necessary for the operation of the smart devices using data cables instead of using power cords cables. Implementing this technology will help to minimize the number of wires that must be strung to install the network. PoE technology can send 10/100/1000 Mbps of data and provide 15W, 30W, 60W, and up to 90W of power budget to devices over Cat5e and Cat6 Ethernet cables for a maximum distance of 100m.

考虑到我们客户的未来需求并快速适应新的技术趋势,罗森伯格开发了一种能够支持PoE技术的新型布线产品。罗森伯格的新解决方案集成了一个RJ45连接器,可以直接插入智能设备的接口,而不需要额外的模块或跳线。结合支持高密度连接并符合标准IEE802.3bt的小型设计,这种新的布线解决方案可以归类为PoE+,这意味着我们的产品可以为高性能设备提供高达90W的电源。

Thinking about the future needs of our customers and adapting fast to new technological tendencies, Rosenberger has developed a new cabling product capable of support PoE technology. Rosenberger’s new solution integrates an RJ45 connector that can be plugged directly into the interface of smart equipment without the need for additional modules or patch cord. Combined with a small design that supports high-density connections and achieving compliance with the standard IEE802.3bt, this new cabling solution can be categorized as PoE++ which means that our products can provide up to 90W of power supply for high-performance devices.
