November 29, 2007 -- Leviton has formed a technology partnership with Meru Networks, to bring that company's wireless platforms, including its WiFi Alliance-certified 802.11n products, to enterprise customers. The partnership makes the Meru products available to Leviton's base of electrical and datacom distributors.

"Meru's technology, operating on a single channel, makes it simple for contractors to install Meru's access points (APs) without the concern of overlapping or conflicting channels," says Ross Goldman, VP/GM of Leviton Network Solutions. "This will assist our customers in the deployment of wireless networks for a range of commercial applications."

Meru's wireless technology is designed to create a single channel network, for benefits including higher bandwidth, higher throughput, and toll-quality QoS for voice applications, as compared to "legacy" WLAN vendors. In addition, the Meru products require minimal site planning and configuration, which simplifies the installation process, according to the companies.

"Leviton's consultants, architects and engineering community can now specify Meru's 4th generation technology providing additional connectivity options to their clients," comments Chris Dickerson, director of business development of Meru Networks. "The Leviton team can develop and plan for state of the art wired/wireless buildings during construction to provide the customer with reduced expense and space utilization alternatives."
